1 Introduction
1.1.1 MT9681BYYTYY Product Overview
The MT9681BYYTYY is MediaTek's single-chip SoC solution for 120 Hz UHD smart TV and can even support 165 Hz for gaming TV applications. It boasts an integrated high-quality video processor based on MediaTek's advanced technologies, satisfying a variety of customer requests for image quality and allowing for state-of-the-art DTV systems. The multi-core CPUs and GPUs deliver high performance for modern smart TVs, while the up-to-date Arm® and Mali architecture ensures the best software compatibility.
The MediaTek professional PQ engine includes all of MediaTek's most advanced color-tuning tools. MediaTek's unique color processor with specially designed color remapping systems assists system developers in quickly and easily identifying PQ characteristics of all panel models in the range. Additionally, MediaTek's innovated UltraClear video processor adopts new technology for multi-frame video recovery, allowing for perfect restoration of content or details and the elimination of noise or artifacts from broadcasting or the internet.
The MT9681BYYTYY supports up to 16-lane V-by-One for UHD TV panels, and P2P interfaces for UHD TCON-less TV panels including CEDS, CHPI, CMPI, ISP, CSPI, and EPI to save on overall system BOM costs. With versatile peripheral connectivity ports such as HDMI, USB, Ethernet, and CVBS, the MT9681BYYTYY can serve as a high-quality media center in the home entertainment field. To meet increasingly popular energy legislative requirements, the MT9681BYYTYY also has an ultralow power standby mode during which an embedded MCU can act upon standby events and wake up the system as required.
